Just had mine... and I couldn’t even finish it... some Pasta with meat sauce, salad and shrimp... didn’t really make a big deal of it but I’ve loved pasta since I was a little girl so I had a quiet, quick, internal ‘goodbye’. That’s all. Surgery’s tuesday.

I will have a last supper. Probably steak with a big baked potato and some good dessert:)

I'm going to Red Lobster and I'm going to order the ultimate Seafood meal! I'm going to eat at cheese biscuit, and I'm going to have dessert and a margarita! I just need to get a surgery date now so that I can plan my meal! LOL

P. S. After dinner at Red Lobster I'm going to make my husband take me to a movie. And there I'm probably going to have a Diet Coke and buttered popcorn! I will call it the end of an era!

I'm calling my week prior to starting the pre-op diet as my "food farewell tour". Basically getting in some of my favorites, but only to an extent. I don't want to completely sabotage what I've worked at to lose since beginning this journey. It culminates this Saturday (14th) with one of my favorite restaurants along with friends and family.

I don't have anything in particular planned, maybe grilled shrimp? I have had a cookie here and there in the 6 months pre-op, some popcorn, couple bites of cheesecake - but I don't feel deprived or anxious to have something special. I do have a slight cold so maybe my taste buds just aren't in the mood. I start liquid pre-op Saturday.

My father is making me my favorite steak next Saturday because I know it will most likely be the last one I ever eat (that size anyway) lol. And I'm totally excited about it. :)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
