Who else has their surgery in October?

Recommended Posts

I just got my surgery date - October 4th. Plus I was told I have to start my pre-op diet tomorrow. After all this preparation that was fast! Anyone else out there scheduled for October?
Nervous and excited at the same time.

Oct 17

I hit my low on day 3. Headache and starving. Wound up eating more Protein and made it through. Today is day 7 and I think I'm getting sick. Aches all over, sore throat and freezing. All I want is hot tea. I hate tea, never been my thing so that's weird. The thought of drinking a Protein Shake makes me nauseous. So Lind of a blessing. Just hoping I'm all better before the surgery.

Yes I feel freezing too, I thought that was just me, I'm glad to hear someone else has it but sorry at the same time as it's not a nice feeling. Really strange your craving something you don't even like. Can you have bovril or anything, I have been having that to keep warm a little. I hope you feel better, in a way I feel this is getting us ready for what is to come so it's not a shock to the system. I feel if I did this a few years ago I would of packed it in, so I know I'm ready for this now.

Morning all! Was sleeved at 1pm yesterday, it's now 5am the following day and I'm feeling great! Still have a little bit of gas pain which is easing with every walk I do. Hitting good fluid goals and peeing like a champion. Still have my pca which will be taken down today and then home on Friday!Good luck to all the flow October sleeves! What exciting adventures we have to look forward to!

I was sleeved at 1pm on Wednesday. Great experience. No nausea or pain except when drinking - hard to get the fluids in. Was sent home yesterday (POD 1) and that's when the nausea hit - on the ride home. That was followed by pain when I got home. Rough day yesterday, but feeling much better this morning. Hoping for a good day. Think my reserves were just low yesterday. We can do this!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
