Hi all, I had my surgery almost a month ago I lost 4 kilos in the first week, since I haven't lost a single kilo, what's going on, I feel like I've made the wrong decision

everything you are going through is something we all have gone through, just look in some of the older posts here and you will find a wealth of information. Regret and stalls all come with the territory so to speak.

Ok thank you, I'm just so confused as to how you can hardly be eating a thing and not losing any weight, most people say they lost the most in the first month

It's helpful to look at what happened before surgery to give an idea of what you can expect afterwards.

Before I dig into that, how are you doing meeting your Fluid and Protein goals?

So, about how calories were you eating before starting any of your preop diets? What kind of preop diet(s) did you do and how much did you lose?

I'm doing everything as the surgeon and dietician reccomends, I'm not getting as much Water as I should, sometimes eating less calories than I should per day, I lost 5.5 kilos on my 10 days pre diet

Ok, so I converted kilos to pounds for us in the States. You lost 21lbs in the 17 days between the preop diet and the first week postop. That is definitely significant! I find when people drop so much, so quickly, they usually get a nice long stall on the back end of it while their bodies catch up. 3 weeks sounds about right, so as soon as you can increase your Water you should start seeing that scale move again.

Don't fret, you're doing great!!

Today I got on scales and have lost 1/2 kilo, I had just had 600 mls of Water and haven't been to toilet in a couple of days so fingers crossed the weightloss is starting again 🤞🏼

Rach, just stay on the plan from your surgeon. I am experiencing a stall as well 7 weeks post op. I have read from posts here and I hear it is normal after such a huge initial weight loss like berry said. I have lost a total of 30pounds between pre op and now. I keep reassuring myself that I would not have lost that much weight without the surgery. I am also hoping that the scales start moving for me too.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
