Well my pre-op diet starts tomorrow. I had a 2 hour session with the nutritionist and my doctor's nurse in which they went over in great detail the pre-op and post-op requirements. I am really trying to stay positive about the next two weeks. Bottom line, if my Dr goes in and my liver is too fatty, he won't perform the surgery. I don't want to come all this way to just be turned away on the operating table. Operation pre-op is in full effect!

How long did it take the doctors office to give you a surgery date after you were approved? I am still waiting on a date and was approved last Thursday!

In my case once all my workup was complete (9/6/17) they had me pick the surgery date and then they submitted paperwork to my insurance company with the date of October 12. I was officially approved a week later (9/13/17). I started the whole process July 5th and 14 weeks later will be starting my new life!!

How many visit did you Oct sleever have to make? Because I thought I would be in October but the coordinator said November

Sent from my LGMS210 using BariatricPal mobile app

I had six visits which included my initial doctor's visit. Started in March. Had my endoscopy, psych eval and Dietician meeting. Was a week off because of Harvey so ended up submitting Sept 6 to insurance (originally would have been Aug 29th). Got approval insurance Sept 12th and got my surgery date at Oct 19th today. My pre-op is Oct 6th:)

That's pretty much what my program lists for me although I'm allowed black coffee with no sugar, and salads and lean Protein. I got some discounted Optifast shakes today. Will wait till the soups are on special. I'm in Perth, Aus.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
