I was just able to eat a small bowl of super cold watermelon. I literally macerate it in my mouth till it's liquid. Unfortunately there isn't any Protein in it and it's super filling but it felt so good to get natural Vitamins as well as being refreshing. Having a shake too, well trying to. Again, who ever though that I'd be trying to get UP to 1000 calories!??!!! Two months ago, before preop started, I could knock 1000 out in one sitting

Hahahaha. 1000 calories was a snack for me. Maybe not quite but close.

I might advice against watermelon. It has a lot of sugar and, especially early in, that could trigger some tummy sensitivity.

I turned a corner today!! Omg I was able to eat a little and my energy was so much better! Was able to eat a small cup of Tomato Soup for lunch and about an ounce-ish of chicken and a couple bites of mashed potatoes for dinner. I feel like a new person!!! And for a snack I had a wedge of laughing cow cheese. Now I just gotta get my Water in. But hey, small victories!! Woohoo!! :)

Hi Allie,
We have her similar stats and exactly the same sleeve date. I've been having about the same experience with good days and bad days. I had a slice of califlower crust pizza yesterday but then felt sick from my shake later that day. No solutions, but maybe this is normal. I've heard that by 8 weeks things settle down.

Also I'm from California! But now in PA.

Hey sleeve twin!! :)
Yeah, got a little overzealous with my excitement yesterday. Woke up today, took a sip of Water and am now totally nauseated and the thought of eating sounds awful. [emoji20] I haven't started exercising yet other than walking because I can't get enough water in to do the workouts that I used to do pre surgery (so loved being the heaviest one in there[emoji849]), and I am terrified of throwing up mid class. I don't have a scale at the house bc I know myself and I'll obsess, like to the point of weighing multiple times a day, but I think I've hit a stall. I'm sure it's from not getting enough water and calories in. I've read so many people hitting stalls and were able to get it moving again by upping water and calories but I am fighting water daily. I haven't been weighed since my two week post op but have another md appointment in 3 weeks so I'll know my weight then. How has your loss been? Any suggestions on what you can eat that seems to sit well? I love the cauliflower pizza idea. I've seen those already done at the grocery store. I'll grab one this week.
Here's to getting through this!!

I have been very fortunate to have a completely complication free surgery and recovery. I am 4 weeks post. I was doing well for three weeks progressing through the stages of my diet. I just started on soft. I am not nauseated but I am now completely put off by the thought of food. I am not hungry at all to the point that I am getting weak from not eating. I am keeping up with my Water intake. I cannot drink shakes anymore because I had enough of them beginning preop to post op. If I see one more shake I will scream. While I am happy and grateful that I am not hungry, I just wish I could find some Protein rich soft food that I can eat enough to have some energy. Does anybody have ideas or is it just a phase that will pass?

I drink Premier shakes in the chocolate, I always put them in the freezer for a hour or so and it's like a chocolate shake. That's the only way I can drink them .. I also put yogurt in the freezer too

Can you have avocados? Nut butter? Greek yogurt? I've also been having luck with GENEPRO - it's such a small amount of powder for 30g of Protein. It mixes well with nearly everything and has very little taste.

Genepro has been great for me.. I mix it with Powerade Zero, sugar free pudding & tea . Use a shaker bottle for the liquids and shake a lot for it to dissolve a lot

I meet with the dietitian and bariatrician today. Hope I can get some pointers. Yesterday I managed to eat a decent piece of steamed fish. Just boiled it in fish stock with no spices. Will eat another piece today.

I get tired of food quickly, so I'm trying to change it up a lot. Today I had egg salad and ricotta bake type thing with eggplant. I'm also going to try a falafel. I made overnight oats for tomorrow. Some food that were fine were bad the second time. I suggest you just keep trying new things.

Allie, that's funny about exercise classes. I just start couch to 5k. Day 1 yesterday. I felt a little sick when I got home but not sure if it was c25k or not. I will try it again tomorrow.
I've been on a stall since week 3. Today (first day of week 4), I'm finally down 2 lbs. Yay!
Good for you for not weighing yourself--even if it is because you can't. I weigh myself every morning! I'm down 17 since surgery and 29 since I started the liquid diet. My clothes are loose!

Hey! We are in the same boat. I am 3.5 weeks out and can barely stomach food. It's really catching up with me too bc I'm running around after two 8 year old twin boys, driving all over town, and my energy had plummeted. I was doing fine until this week. I cannot seem to get my Protein in or all my Water. Yesterday I was so fatigued and weak that someone asked me if i was ok to drive home! One trick that has worked, though it takes me forever to get though a mug, is that bariatric hot chocolate that has 15 grams of protein. I mix it with 8 ounces of milk bc cup of milk has 10 grams of protein so 25 grams in a mug. The taste is pretty good, it's just kind of rich and takes me about 1-2 hours to get through. As I write this though, not having eaten anything yet, the thought isn't appealing. (Who ever thought I would not want food??!!!) my biggest concern is losing my hair if I can't get my protein up-omg trading in one insecurity for another!!!! Last night we went to Thai food and I ordered Soup made with coconut milk to up my calories and added soft tofu. I got a little down. I'm right there with you! I have even thought about puréeing a Protein Bar into my shakes. You should see my front room-Amazon delivered powdered Peanut Butter (PB2), bars and shakes. It looks like a protein store and I want none of it. Holding your hand from California! I'm here with ya!

I feel ya...currently in the soft foods/purrees stage. One thing my NUT suggested was to use Melba toast with the Protein (cottage cheese, hummus, thin sliced deli meat.) the toasts basically dissolve into mush as you chew them. It has really helped me get my protein in w/whole food. I know ppl get all anti-carb crazy, but at this point I'm more worried about my hair/muscles, not an extra lb or 2.

I second this, I used a couple saltines to get some lunchmeat down yesterday and it went MUCH better than the lunchmeat alone.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
