Holy smokes, 6 weeeeeeeekkkkkkkkkkssss.......ahhhhhhhhhhh......I cant do six weeks but it kind of sounds nice too. lol

The workaholic in me is afraid of being off that long! I also work in the medical field and my patients give me life. I think I will miss them... I won't, however, miss my coworkers! Lol!!!

I maybe underestimated. Eek! When I told surgeon I work from home he said I should be ok to go back in a day or 2. I'm hoping to log in the next day. Is that totally crazy? [emoji51] My surgery is on a Tuesday.

- No idea what I'm doing but I'm here! :)

You need more than a day or too unless you like feeling like puking while logging in? Ugh, I don't know. I am afraid the nausea will be getting to me for awhile.

What saves me is I don't have to really talk to anyone for work. I am pretty lucky with my manager too. She leaves me alone for the most part lol. I will ask for Tuesday and Wednesday off and see how that goes. I am NOT complaining but I didn't think it would happen this quickly so I used time off for the Labor Day weekend. Oops! Haha

That is really good. I have to talk to a lot of people when I am doing that part of my job but I also have tons of paperwork where I have to basically lock myself up in a room so my family doesnt bother me or I go work from the coffee shop, etc. I guess I could work right away doing paperwork but I really do have tons of leave saved up so I may as well at least take some time. I could potentially check emails. My job - I have to bill thirty hours a week and it takes about 50 hours a week to bill the 30.

What is your surgery date?

Dang! I'm sorry you have to work 50 to meet your productivity. Maybe one day we will both win the lottery [emoji5] my date is 9/19. Still waiting on a time. I'm crazy. I am hoping for late afternoon so I can still work. But really I just want to get to the 19th.

I work on a process improvement team. Which means I get lots of projects to work on to research one piece of the much bigger puzzle that particular project is looking into. Usually I have 1-2 days to complete the project so I think I can manage to make it through the week. That's my plan, at least.

I wish I could take actual time off. I will if I have to, but it will all be unpaid because I was a poor planner.... but also I didn't expect to be approved so fast. Glad you have 4 weeks!

I took temporary disability-my job pays 100% for the first 4 weeks of course you have to use your vacay/sick time up which for me was a week and then they kicked in. Also same ins does our fmla so both were approved at the same time. Otherwise id just have had the week off and i knew that wouldnt work. Does your job offer tdi? Look into it maybe.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
