I'm 9 weeks out and down 57 pounds. But getting bored with food and not sure if I am even eating the right things. I use the Atkins app to count calories and carbs and I max my calories at 500. I'm hungry but can't stand more than two-three bites of food :(

How are you guys doing out there?

I was sleeved on May 2nd, down 34 since surgery 54 since starting the process in April. I was stalling a bit but the wl is picking up again. Having the same trouble, I'm hungry but then can only have about 4 ounces of Protein and I'm at capacity. I'm am starting to get a lot of comments on my wl at work which is nice but hard at the same time. Sometimes people don't realize how they sound. One woman like yelled across the parking lot that I was shrinking but it didn't feel like a compliment. I have alot to lose and get scared it will just stop. I know you just have to do you and tune out the noise.

I haven't even told anyone at my work that I had the surgery. I have had comments from people like, oh you've lost weight, your such a pretty girl and if you lost more 🙄 As you can tell I work with mostly men! I am trying to exercise but just not a lot of energy... just keep trucking!

I'm 9 weeks out and have only lost 18 pounds. I'm frustrated and getting bored with eating Protein and the same things all the time. I don't mind getting full fast because I know that's the only thing helping me right now. I'm just crawling along. Disappointed it's not coming off faster. How many calories are you eating at 9 weeks?

I am eating between 300-500 calories. I can't fit anymore. I still have a Protein Shake or scrambled eggs for Breakfast. I'll eat Soup, salad with grilled chicken or a Protein Bar for lunch and just a small dinner of mostly meat and veggies. I can't fit a lot of food. I find it much better to track with the Atkins app, it's free to use and download. I also do a lot of sugar free fudgesicles, hello and puddings. I started walking a few weeks ago, not far and about 20 minutes a few times a week, and I swim. I'm going to sound so bad, but I have small 2 pound weights that I use to do arm exercises while I'm watching tv at night.. like I mentioned I don't have a lot for energy but I just figured it's something!

I am not counting calories, my nut said to focus on protein and Water and if there's room veggies and a tiny bit of fruit. Sometimes you can be consuming not enough calories that can slow things down too. Talk to your nut, there is no perfect formula I'm learning I was on vacation last week expecting to gain when I returned and lost ? Makes no sense.

Are you on Pinterest? Search chicken meatballs. I make them every week and make a huge batch so I can portion them out for the week. They have every flavor-chicken parm is my favorite. I swap out breadcrumb for a little almond or coconut flour and you can't even tell the difference. I've tried bbq, orange chicken, general tso chicken, pesto, and even chick-fil-a! One meatball fills me up and I don't have to worry about cooking when I'm exhausted.

Those sound good! I will research those today! My problem, I hate reheated meat so everything I make is either eaten when I make it or something I can have cold. I just went to the grocery store and bought a rotisserie chicken and that will last me several meals and can be eaten cold and on salad..

Was that weight all lost after surgery? Are you exercising and what are you eating? Curious, I'm stuck lol

I'm the same way with most meats but I'm ok with chicken. Also, I like the chicken parm ones cold haha.

I was sleeved 5/22 and I eat about 900 calories a day. I'm a slow loser as well. 37 since preop and 22 since surgery. I feel good and at least the scale is moving in the right direction. Stay focused. Maybe we won't have loose skin to deal with since we're slow losers.

I was sleeved may 2nd. I am down 62 lbs. im doing great but I haven't lost in 3 weeks now and have actually gone up a pound or two 😩 I'm working out every day. I have noticed some hunger has krept back in. Maybe just head hunger... I feel great and all though. My biggest fear is gaining the weight back. Even after weight loss surgery lol

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
