STRUGGLING! I'm so close to my goal but really struggling with the last 3.5kgs. I've lost 26.5kgs (59lbs) in 20 weeks. Although I'm nearly there I'm terrified that I'm going to start self-sabotaging. I've been literally walking my butt off and being so, so careful with what I eat but now the thought of maintaining this huge loss is seeming like a massive mountain to climb for the rest of my life. I've been here so many times before, not with weight loss surgery though, but we all know that the surgery is just a weight loss tool and can be circumnavigated easily. Anyone have tips on how to get that last bit off and keep it off?

You look fabulous! I am inspired by your loss of inches/kg in such a short time. What you are doing is obviously working but you may have hit a plateau and will have to battle through. I get the fear of self sabotage and feel the fear of potential failure at only five weeks out. We are our own worst enemy.

Let's say you wake up tomorrow, and the scale says your goal weight.

What do you do? What is your plan?

I'll give you a hint. If you want to continue looking the way you do, you'll have to continue doing what you did to get there.

You keep on doing what you are doing, without end.

If your weight starts dropping lower than you want, carefully ease up on exercise and/or eat a few more calories.

That's it!

Oh, and I forgot to mention.. if you are currently working so hard as to be exhausted (mentally or physically).. try to reevaluate your routine. Since this is forever, it needs to be sustainable.

Congratulations - you look fabulous!!! I'm in your same boat - very close to goal - now what!?!?! I realized, just keep doing what I'm doing. I still can't and won't ever be able to eat like I did before. Margaritas, queso, enchiladas, burgers, fries, Pasta . . . In reality, I don't even want any of that anymore. I feel exercise is the key to maintaining the loss. I know I don't really want to eat anything after working out hard and my brain tells me - girl, you just worked your ass off, don't go messing it up with crap food!

You look great! You have lost 1/4 of your body weight in only 4 months! Keep up the good work. Don't stress out. You will get where you want to be as long as you keep trusting in your doctor's program. Good luck with those final kgs!

Thanks ZumbaMami. You'll find the weight will start to fall off and if you exercise regularly it will come off even quicker. I guess try not to fear the failure. There were people on here who were my inspirations too at the beginning but then you actually become your own inspiration and that helps you to push you through. Good luck.

That's what scares me the most. How do I stop losing weight? If I want to level off at goal weight I will have to eat more calories and that's where the devil is. Eating more calories is dangerous for me because I might just get carried away. I suppose I just have to think about how good I feel right now and that anything I could eat will just not be worth it.

Thanks YeaMe and congratulations to you too!. I'm worried about easing up on my tight calorie intake because I can manage very well when I don't have ANY naughty things but having some and just moderating them is harder. I start to eat more and more, from experience, and it scares the bajeebers out of me! I'm just going to keep thinking how good I feel now, and how healthy, and remind myself that nothing I could possible eat would be worth undoing this. Good luck to you.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
