My month will be officially Aug 3rd, I had my surgery on a July 3rd on a Monday. For me the sleeve was the best decision I made. I know a lot has changed for me in the last month. Before the surgery I was diabetic not now... and enlarged heart... my Dr. said it's back down to a normal size. Started having signs that the diabetes was messing with my kidneys but not now. Everyday I wake up feeling good but not like before I felt bad all the time and basically ignored or pushed through it cuz l wasn't going to let life rule me! FB_IMG_1495789626316.jpg IMG_0586.JPG

Congratulations on your success!! Hearing your storying gives me hope my surgery is schedule for August 25 and I can't wait. I was diagnosed with lupus over 13 years ago. I know my surgery won't cure my illness , but I know the extra weight off of my joints will help tremendously.

Congrats on your success and keep up the outstanding job! I was sleeved a week ago, July 26th. Even though I was a nervous reck and wanted to bail out many times. I'm so glad I stuck with the WSL. I feel so much better than I have in a very long time. The day of my discharged from the hospital, the nurse said that my diabetes and blood pressure were normal. I take no meds now. God is so good!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
