I'm starting to question if this is the right thing to do

@AprilO74I know the feeling! I'm scheduled for surgery on Wednesday, the 8th and I keep second-guessing myself. One minute I'm confident in my decision and the next, I'm like "ehh I don't know" or I see some study or negative comment or something. However, the vast majority of experiences seem to be positive. I think I'm going to kick myself in the butt if I don't go through with it. I think the permanence is what scares me the most and the "unknown." I think it's somewhat normal to be anxious and to have worries and concerns though. Some people's are just more extreme than others.

Ok me too! Exact same! On on pre-op diet now and feeling so hungry and deprived that I'm having cold feet. We must be normal if 3 of us are feeling this way. Maybe it's the hunger talking..lol

I think it is normal to have those thoughts. I always go back to the comment I hear and see repeatedly “I only wish I had done it sooner.”

I'm starting to question if this is the right thing to do

I question myself daily, and my husband has been so supportive by telling me hes going to go through it with me and change his diet as well, he has even vowed not to eat in front of me until i can advance my diet. Im a nurse so I am all over the place with the positives and the negatives. But with positive thinking and family/friend support WE CAN DO THIS

Happy to help. I am glad the million posts I read and the hundreds of YouTube videos I watched are paying off for someone besides just me. I lost a lot of sleep reading and watching. This makes it worth it.

I too have been all over YouTube and a few other websites getting insight and as much information I could find to make my decision on the rest of my life. I choose this because I know in my heart it is something that will help me help myself.

I am glad I am not the only one. I feel the same way. Some people on MFP were discouraging someone yesterday, and told her to come here. She made me think about why I am so sure. I truly believe it is because I have spent so much time preparing, mostly by absorbing information from those who have been through it and the doctors who have witnessed it all.

The Premier Protein shakes are good. I am on my last day of them then Clear Liquids all day tomorrow and surgery Wednesday the 8th. The hardest part is the first 2-3 days after that it get easier. At the moment i have no urge for regular food.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
