4 Wekks out of nowhere I lost the ability to list the front of my foot and toes it was totally numb about half way up my shin. I went to the ER had mri sounded spinal stenosis on both lower sides and a slight disk bulge. Next went to see Neurologist said he didnt thing my disk had anything to do with foot drop. Had nerve conduction test done and emd confirmed peroneal neuropathy. I am still in shock wondering how this could of happen but after alot of research have read it is quite common in rapid weight loss I have lost 97 pounds in 7 months. I am so depressed I was doing just fine feeling great and now this. PLEASE if anyone has had this problem would love to here from you.

I am so sorry to hear about the problems you have. I know carrying a lot of weight for a long period wreaks havoc on the spine and body, including the feet. The diabetic neuropathy that usually affects overweight people is a horrible way to live. My husband still is diabetic and has had foot dropsy before the sleeve, which affects his gait to the point he has trouble walking. But at 200 lbs it is easier than 300 lbs. I am off Metformin since the sleeve, but it seems my feet bother me more than anything. Long term obesity will shorten our lives with many health problems, and I hope you can get all of this under control, and your weight loss helps with the problems. Good luck!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
