Got feeding tube yesterday. It is inserted into my upper arm. Tube goes from my arm, across my chest and down by my heart. It was not bad and they were very thorough showing me how to care for it. TPN is 1520 Cal's. I am thirsty, but cannot drink. I will take this day by day with God's guidance.

Hello All. Well, I have been on the TPN feeding tube now for 2 weeks. It is going fine. Still have tightness feeling in my stomach. Doc watching me close. Lots of blood tests and blood culture yesterday. So far, so good. Next week, I will get CT with contrast and see if it is healing. If it is, I will be on TPN another week and add liquids. If not, then stent is up for consideration. I am praying that it is healed. Anyone else out there with similar story?

Well today I got an upper GI and it is confirmed, I have a leak. Not sure what my options are but I really don't want a stent. Have not been able to eat or drink in 23 days. I am really getting to my wits end.

Oh man :( {Hugs} I can't imagine what you must be going through. Do you have family around?

So glad they've at least figured it out, though...

I'm so sorry for you. I bet you're at your wits end. Did they not tell you what your options were? Ugh, just no words. Hope they fix this fast. :(

Praying the doctor finds the best way to heal your stomach quickly, and for strength for you to get through this.

I just found this thread.. @Goggyween, I am really sorry you are going through this! I don't really know much about management of a leak other than stent placements. Have you discussed other options with your doc?

Please stay strong. You are in my thoughts.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
