It might be stomach acid - they should have you on a proton pump inhibitor already but check to make sure (and especially make sure they have you on one when you go home). It could also be "head hunger". The surgery fixes the stomach...the brain can take awhile to catch up [emoji4]

I had something earlier and a patch behind my ear. He prescribed Omneprezerole (spelling) for when I go home.

My husband was sleeved in April this year and said that he thought he was hungry for a day after the surgery. But by the end of the first day home, he didn't feel that way. He believes that it was "in his head" that he needed food. He wasn't really hungry.

Just his experience. Hope this helps. 😃

I asked the nurse, she thinks so too. My brain knows I havent eaten for the last week, so I SHOULD be hungry. It stinks because I feel like I'm STARVING!

Today has actually been HARDER! I had my first real nausea episode, it was fast but bad. I'm having problems with Water, Only getting popsicles in. I hope it gets better. I'm ALREADY having a little buyers remorse!

Did you take big sips? Maybe that's why you got sick? Not going to lie that's my potential deal breaker w the surgery. So nervous. I hope you feel better!

I hope you're feeling at least a little better now.

My hubs had a similar experience with the nausea after surgery. And his first night home he wondered if he'd made the best decision. By his second night home, he was feeling much better.

Two months out, his only regret is not doing it sooner.

Sending you prayers and wishes for comfort and fast healing!

It's only happened twice, and I feel it when it's coming on. I have to find SOMETHING I can drink, I don't want to go back to the hosp for dehydration

I was (or thought I was) pretty hungry the first two weeks. Once I started on purée it changed. I rarely feel actual hunger now but when I do feel it I am super hungry, like I gotta eat right now hungry.
Usually things improve and the buyers remorse fades away. Hope you feel better.

I can't wait for it to go away. I feel good physically, no pain at all. I am a little light headed and afraid of getting nauseaus, so I am not drinking as much as I shpuld be, although, the Crystal light is DEFINITELY going down easier than Water. Did u feel light headed in the first few days?

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
