jbates - I have the smaller band and have 3cc in a 4.5cc band. I have not lost a pound in 3 1/2 months. I have been waiting to get another fill because I can't believe I have 3cc and need/want one. I did just find out I need another knee surgery (I have had about 13 between both knees) and will not do it as long as I can walk and I am not close to my goal weight. So, next week I am going to risk getting another fill. My guess is he will only do .2cc or maybe .3cc. But that can make all the difference. I actually felt like I had more restriction when I was at 2.4. Even with 3cc I can't say I experience that no hunger feeling. That would be wonderful. I obviously don't eat nearly as much as I used to but weight loss is stopped. I don't exercise too much though because of my legs so I am sure I would lose more if I did. Anyway - you are not the only one almost full and still not at a sweet spot. I wish you the best and don't get discouraged.

Wow, kudos to you. How many fills did you have? I had my first one today and feel as hungry as ever. I'm a little disappointed but your message made me feel hopeful. Lucy

I had two fills before I had much restriction at all, and it took 3 to get to the point I'm at now. Don't be disappointed, many people don't get much restriction after only one fill. I sure didn't.

I was banded on 5/18. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones. I just don't have the urge to eat. My nut advised me to stick to some sort of schedule. So I eat or drink a Protein Shake within one of waking up. I get up by 10 AM. I eat lunch no later than 3 PM and dinner before 8. I go to bed really late so this works for me. I drink Water in between. I'm trying to get to 200 by 1/1/08. I have 29 lbs to go.

I too have reached that "great" restriction and I am not complaining as many of us know, eating was never a problem. My concern is, if you do not eat enough does that slow down the weight loss? I was told the body goes into a "fasting" phase, when it stores fat thinking that it is saving me from starvation?

I drink coffee( 8:30 a.m.) and that usually holds me until noon. lunch usually consist of Soup or some other soft food because of the restriction and dinner may be a few bites of something. I find myself craving pepper Jack cheese for the spice. I psyche myself into thinking I am having a spicy savory meal (pepper jack on a couple of triscuts). Before the band I craved spicy, crispy food and I still do, but I cannot get them down. However, I digressed.......back to the original question, does not eating enough calories slow down weight loss?

This doesn't really answer the question, but this link was interesting:

Just the FAQs: How Many Calories Should I Consume?

Although, I did google your question, and the answer seems to be yes, not eating enough calories can slow weight loss. But I think it's more severe than just cutting back. According the nutrition guides given to me, in order for me to get my Protein and required Vitamins, I'd have to have enough calories not to be starving. The lowest I've had in a day is 800 calories (on bad days), and the most was 2000 (on really bad days!).

Given my past eating habits, I'd have downed that many calories by Breakfast.

But, it does seem tricky to try to find the balance, especially when you can't get anything down...

Serenity, that's a good question even though I've been trying to figure out how many calories I can take in to lose just 2 lbs per week..................geez, that's all I'm asking. I had my 1st fill a week ago (10/13) and no restriction, at least not yet. But I track my calories each day and according to the calculation I can consume 1200-1500 daily. I mostly stay around 1200 calories. I speed walk 4 times a week 3-4 times daily and I do band stretching every other day. Maybe I'm like wasabubba butt and only need to net about 600 calories a day to lose. We shall see as time goes.

I only have lose the desire to eat about a week after a fill. After that, I get used to it or something and my life revolves around food once more. It's so hard to know whether one has adequate restriction. I don't PB but I eat more than I should be for a bandster (I think).

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
