It will vary- your body is still adjusting to the surgery and you are still on liquids at this point... I am 6 weeks out and have lost 40 since surgery but it's similar to the band- the scale moves on it's time.. I am maintaining ketogenic/low carb diet and using both the scale and measurements to track progress- I would have gone crazy now just looking at the scale... My doctor said that band revision patients lose slower~ I believe it! That said I am losing inches and able to fit back into clothes.... so hang in there... congratulations!

My advice is to be patient with yourself. Everyone is different. I had my revision on 1/13/17 and it took several months to keep the scale moving. I even had a week when I gained a pound :o During the liquid stage, just focus on healing and taking care of yourself.

As you can see from my stats, I'm losing but not as fast as others. If you compare your journey to others, you will always feel like a failure. I did the same thing at first, then I stopped. I now take pictures often and compare where I've come from. Stalls are common, even early in the journey. I had 2 stalls in the first 2 months. Again, this is just my experience, so good luck on your journey :)

Hi. I'm now 4 weeks out scale moving. Around the 235 mark now. Any idea of Calories, grams of Protein, carbs ? Etc. also hunger has come back. Not bad but some say they are never hungry.

In 3 mo out and I stalled at 2-3 weeks but then began losing again. A lot of the adjustment is due to hormonal changes. I just saw nutritionist and she said 800-1000 calories a day and that will increase a bit a year out or so. 40 to 60 grams of carbs a day so it should be no more than 40%of caloric intake. 50-60 grams of protein. I was 244 and I'm down to 202 now. Good luck!

Definitely call your team's dietician and see their recommendations. My practice wants 60-80 grams of protein, as low carb as possible. 800-1000 calories. I'm only 2 weeks out and they said to continue supplementing with shakes to get to the required protein. I'm on the pureed stage and after a few bites I'm done. So thankful my band was removed! Best of luck!!!

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
