November Surgery Dates

Recommended Posts

Yes, I teach math so I don't know too many of the English faculty.

I read about the Protein bullets here but I understand they are not 100 percent whey Protein isolate, which is supposed to be the best protein. I believe they also contain collagen protein.

I forgot that I also got some liquid Tylenol and Gas-X strips. And I checked to make sure I have some Lactaid because I have been lactose-intolerant before using whey protein and my nutritionist said it can be worse after the band.

I'll know more about further preparations to be made after I visit the hospital tomorrow and the surgeon on Tuesday.

I graduated from Klein High School and most of my family is still in the Spring area. But I've been in Austin for 34 years since I came here to go to UT. My husband graduated from Crockett High School.

Hi Rhea and Longhorn

I am having my surgery Nov. 6th. You guys will be banded pros by then;)

I have been on the liquid diet since Aug 9th because my BMI was in the Danger zone for surgery. They don't like it 60 or above so I had to lose weight to get the surgery.

Things I have bought to get ready

A heating pad- have heard its VERY handy!

Liquid Tylenol

Tums with Calcium

Flinstones chewable Vitamins

Gas-x chewable-the strongest I could find lol

baby food fruits

ice pack

powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury protien sample pack

broth

sugar free Jello

Longhorn I can not believe you only had 2 weeks from first visit to surgery! thats great!! My surgeon is booked 6-8 weeks in advance. So even once I had lost the weight I had too, there was still a 6 week wait :(

Also FYI I was told not to take anymore Vitamins for the 10 days before surgery. I did my pre op stuff last thursday.

Please let me know how you both due on the first!!!!!!

My best to you both!!

Wishes4444, Congratulations on the weight loss so far! How great to get a head start!

I already have a heating pad and icepack but thanks for reminding me so that I can get them out and ready.

I hadn't heard that about stopping the Vitamins. The gal from the hospital did say that I need to tell them about all of my Vitamins and supplements when I go in tomorrow and there may be some things I need to stop. Guess I'll find out then. I'm not taking any blood thinners or anything like that -- just a Multivitamin, Calcium, Iron, B12, Fiber, and glucosamine.

I hope this is an active group! I think it's great sharing with those who are going through this at the same time!

This has been a VERY quiet thread no one really chats they just post their surgery dates. I am always looking for someone to chat with. To me this is a big deal and it took me a lot to get here. I find it great to have people to talk to about it.

This is a link to a pretty active group of nice banders.

This is the latest list, unless I've missed someone.

Jelbel, the one you copied wasn't up to date and I had already added you in the post above yours.

Hi, Everyone! I'm new and going to be banded in Mexico on Thanksgiving Day. (They do not Celebrate there) I'm very nervous but excited. I'm learning so much from all of you. Just learning the posting etiquette so I may not do the cutesy things for a while.

Good luck tomorrow let me know how you make out :(

Guilty as charged :embarassed:. I've been looking at gastric banding as an alternative for sooo long and it's almost as if I can't believe that I'm actually doing it now. Today made it seem real for me, though. I went for my pre-assessment appointment at the hospital, my upper g.i. and tomorrow is my last visit with my surgeon. Wednesday, the 7th is D-Day!!

Thanks to you guys for the shopping list. I have almost everything, still need to find the liquid Tylenol. For some reason, I haven't seen it at either CVS I've been in.

I start my 7 day liquid diet on the 10/31. I'm nervous but so excited. Time is starting to fly by ... surgery day will be here b4 I know it :faint::clap2:

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
