  1. I have 4 scars that are light pink not too bad but I am a horrible healer, lol. Dr Alvarez is great and hiss taff is really helpful.
  2. I was banded by Dr A in November of 07 and I am going back for a fill next week. Hes great and the staff is great! I recommend him to anyone!
  3. Mine was 53 and I got mine to 47 before my surgery!!!! You can do it!!!! I spent a lot of money on protein drinks and hated them, LOL. Try before you buy!!!!! Good to meet some fellow Texans!!!!!
  4. The 2 week pre op (which I did) is just liquids, not clear. I ate egg drop soup for lunch and that was actually satisfying. and carnation for breakfast and dinner. I did take some broth to work in case I got hungry (which the first few days of the pre-op you will) but then it gradually goes away. Its a nice feeling! I lost 20 pounds in that 2 weeks!!!! Good Luck!!!!!
  5. I drank Carnation a lot, it was the only liquid food I could stand, but do try to tolerate other ones if you can since they offer more protein! have fun and I will be seeing Dr A on the 7th for a fill, hes a great guy!
  6. I had my Lap Band done with Dr Alvarez in November. He is great! His staff is wonderful. His patient coordinator Susan is always there if you need anything. The hospital is old and kinda scary at first but it was all in all fine.
  7. I am 10 days post op and my appetite has started to come back. It is easy to make it go away but yes I have been getting really hungry. I will definately need a fill!
  8. I am looking to go for my first fill in Dec too. Right now I can hardly eat a thing..... how long will that last? ITs kinda nice!
  9. Ok so I am back I was banded by doctor A on Nov 2. The hospitol is completely different but Dr Alvarez and his staff are excellent! I am sore and having the gas in my chest but with time it subsides. I have already lsot 10 pounds since surgery also! WHOOHOO! Thats 65 pounds lost since my peak weight!
  10. I had my surgery on Nov 2nd and just now got home. I havent had any shoulder gas pain but I am getting it in my chest. UGH! I didnt have any incision pain until today and now I am just sore. My work has given me all week off but I think I might go back on Thurs. How long will the incisions hurt? ANYONE?
  11. Well im leaving for MX in a few minutes..... WISH ME LUCK!!!!! I will post as soon as I get home!
  12. Well Im leaving to MX in 20 minutes. My surgery is tommorow morning. I thought I was nervous 2 weeks ago!!!! See with me I am more nervous about the surgery then the recovery, I dunno why. I have a HUGE fear of anesthesia.... I am very pessimistic at times and I always think.... is this the last time I will be awake? I will get through this though..... I will let everyone know how it went when I come back on Sunday. WISH ME LUCK!!!!!
