How are you doing on your fluids and Protein intake? Try to focus on getting the recommended daily amounts and see if that helps your energy level.

Funds are ok. Protein is making me ill. Premier Protein is the one making me sick. Even an oz. Any suggestions.

I discovered I can't do premiere Protein. :(
I order Unjury online. I'm on the preop diet still but lots of others can tolerate. I just mixed unflavored Protein Powder in with my crystal light drink and I can't taste it at all. I was amazed because it's a lot of powder! Give it a try. Sorry you're feeling lousy.

My surgery is scheduled for 6/1. (I'm scared!!). My daughter has a softball tournament out of town the 9-11. Will I be able to go? I'll be 8 days post op. It will mean I'll basically have to pack a bunch of Protein Shakes and Soup. Also, what is the soonest any of you have driven after surgery? If I don't take the pain meds, do you think I'll be able to drive short distances 4 days post op? Thank you!!

I had srugery on a Friday, came home from hospital Sunday, and brought my kids to scool on Monday. As long as you are not taking oaim pills you should be able to drive when you feel up to it. My do had no restictions on driving once i hadnt taken pain medication for 24 hours.

Wow! I'd love to be off pain meds after three days!

Never had to take them once I came home. I also had no gas pain whatsoever, so I cant relate to the pain most people had from the gas. The only pain I had just felt like I had done a couple hundred crunches, but not enough to take pain medication for.

I drank one dose of the pain medicine. I decided to struggle through the pain. It's was rough just a couple nights at home. Slept more comfortable inclined at home. Pillows really helped. Walking is ok but just need more strength. Good Luck

What made you decide to struggle through the pain? Did it taste awful or upset your stomach? You guys give me hope I won't need the meds. I have to stay in the hospital for two nights because of previous dvt.

After 8 hours in the hospital for the sleeve I took one pain pill at home. I drove to the grocery store after one day and walked a large shopping mall four days later, of course driving myself. I was raring to go!!!! I was 67 then.

You remind me of my dad. He has his gallbladder out and was beebopping all over town in two days. I had mine out and could barely walk for a week! He was 75, 35 years older than I was. [emoji31]

Hi JoAnn. The liquid pain killer tasted so bad. I just decided to fight through the pain. Getting up and down helped ease the pain. I'm not big on drinking even cough medicine. These chewable fusion Vitamins are quick for the taste to go away and that's about all I can chew.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
