Good afternoon, I'm 3wks post opt and I scared to eat bc I'm afraid of throwing up. I don't know what to eat. I should be on soft foods but I'm not having any luck. I'm sticking to Soups and my Protein Shakes for now but I'm suppose to be eating soft foods. Any suggestion on where I should start on soft foods.

If you're cleared for soft foods, take a leap of faith and start. Yogurt, eggs, mashed black Beans, etc. I'm sure you'll be fine. Seems like you'll need to get over psyche-ing yourself out first. You can do it!

I'm on soft foods too and was nervous and have had no problems at all. I've had scrambled eggs, chicken, lean ground beef, cheese, deli meat, etc.

Try fat free refried Beans, add some cheese if you like.

That'll probably be one of my first soft foods. I love it.

Me too. Will probably have them without the cheese. Already bought 3 cans of the Old el Paso fat free ones. They get good reviews online.

cdkidci there's Peanut Butter powder and chocolate peanut butter powder. Some one in my old Weight Watcher's class told me about it. It's fat free and has lots of Protein. I like the PB2 brand which can be found in most grocery stores. You mix the powder with Water so you can make it as thick or thin as you like.

I started with a scrambled egg and cheese during the pureed stage. I start soft foods for four weeks tomorrow. Can't wait to not have to blend everything!

I'm in soft solids stage , are we allowed deli meat rolled with Swiss cheese or American cheese n light mayo? Are we allowed pickles yet?

easy one - potato, baked or sweet, just the meat of the spud, mash it, a very little butter, S&P to taste - make you full very quick and very easy to eat. I am in the 3rd week and on mush also. Scrambled eggs work for me. I have also nibbled on some solid foods, but chew, chew and then chew some more until its a fine mash - then chew one more time.... small amounts.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
