Not a January bandster but I WANTED TO BE! LOL :)

Tonya: I've had 4 fills and am close to 4cc's in my 4cc band... it wasnt' until the last fill that I had REAL restriction! Good luck with your next appt.

Tracy, we are going to give you an honoray January Bandster title!! We want you to be a Jan. bandster too!

The doc filled me up 3.8 cc's and I do feel the Water going thru my band. So I think I finally have some restriction! I'm hoping it last. I've felt this before, but then it goes away.

The doc snuck up on my fill this time, so I didn't have as many spasms, so maybe this fill will work. I'll know in a few days....or at least in 2 weeks.

I'm ready to get the last 30 lbs off!

Hi Enterprise, I'm so glad you have started feeling better. A little retail therapy and seeing a size 12 is awesome! You have really done well and are close to goal. Congratulations! Who is your ps appointment with? I am considering starting those consults but don't have much resouces on ps docs.

Hey Tulip -- Thanks. I can't believe I'm actually a 12 again. It's been a long, long time since I was that size. It almost doesn't seem real.

I'm going to Dr. Lior Heller at Baylor Medical Center. He's the plastic surgeon that came to speak at Dr. Spivak's support group a couple of times. I've heard he gives a discount to Spivak's patients. I'll let you guys know the cost after the consultation.

Has Audree been around lately? I know she had brachioplasty done some years ago. Audree, if you're out there, could you tell us what it cost you? And do you have some photos of the scars? That's what I'm most concerned about.

Tonya: Glad to hear that you have restriction! I was like you in that I would have restriction and then about 3 weeks after my fill it would just go away.......... not so with this fill.... it has been holding steady... although this past Sunday I noticed that I was able to eat more than a HALF cup of food.... my next appointment is 10/22

Tracy, how often do you go in for followups? I only go in when I want a fill, or if I have problems. Glad your last fill is giving you restriction.

This morning I put on a pair of shoes I haven't worn in a year. They used to be too tight and I'd be in agony by the end of the day. Well, today they feel too loose. I'm almost stepping out of them when I walk. Every day I am so thankful for this band. Life just keeps getting better.

Yay!!!! Congratulations! I agree with you, Life just keeps getting better!

I'm trying to focus on hitting my goal, or at least be very close to it by my 1 year anniversary. I'm about 27 lbs away from it!! I have not been 27lbs away from my goal since my first year in college! I no longer wonder "if" I will lose weight and hit my goal, but I wonder "when" I will do it. Such a wonderful feeling now. I no longer worry about my weight like I used to, I know that I will and am getting better with each and everyday!

Well, I did it. I exercised yesterday for the first time in about 4 years. I walked 2 miles on the treadmill in 38 minutes. My skin was burning and itching from the sweat, my hands swelled up like balloons, my right foot went numb, and I gained 2 pounds. Exercise sucks. I hate every single moment of it. God how I envy those of you who like it. It's so hard to stick with something that you absolutely abhor. Not to mention the fact that it makes me feel bad physically.

I have not been on this (or the first Jan 07) thread in a long time. It's nice to be back and see everyone doing so well. I wonder if we can move the list with all of our surgery dates over here. I remember when it was first started. Look how far we have come! :clap2:

Yes, it do suck. lol. I remember hating it too, I hated every being of exercise. It wasn't until I started seeing results that I thought "hey, its not so bad after all", now I miss it. Hang in there, it does get better!

Hey Susan, gald your posting!!! I think it would be could to move all the the surgery dates over here....

Yes, look how far we've come, we're all coming up on our 1 year Band Birthday! Mine is in 95 days (January 18th). I have 24.2 more pounds to reach in order to hit goal. In order to reach my goal I will need to lose 1.78 lbs per week. I've got it all figured it out fitday.com - lol.

I woke up this morning and did my weigh in and I'm down to 172.2. So I'm getting close to being out of the 170's! Yay!

Happy Monday, I think,

I got up to workout this morning and convinced myself that I needed to play on the computer first!! I'm still here!

I did, however, kill myself off all weekend with physical work. Got the patio put in...3100 pounds of pavers and sand and sweeping and, and, and. I was really sore on Sunday but feel more Fluid and lose today. So that is good. Lots of squats and curls with those 18 pound pavers. I feel pretty good about all that work tho.

I am scheduled to go in every 4 weeks for the first year, however I called right before my Sept appointment and asked if I needed to since I KNEW I didn't need a fill, and they said no. My next appointment is Monday 10/22........ and I don't know if I need a tweak or not....... time will tell.

Good Mornin all, I stepped on the scales and I'm down to 170.9, I'm getting so close to being out of the 170's!!!!!!!! I haven't been in the 160's in over 16 years. Probably since 1989, right after my DH & I were married. I remember weighing about 140 when we got married, in 1988, however, I remember at our 1 year anniverary, I was up to 160 and was mordified. Wow, how time changes our perception.

Now, I'm looking forward to being in the 160's!

Oh wow! Congratulations on reaching a milestone. I got close to bottom 170's (174), and then gained a pound and have been stuck here for a while. I know I could lose some if I could get back on the treadmill.

I have a feeling you will be singing the 160's song very soon. Let us know.

Hi,

Haven't been on in a long time. I was banded June 18, 2007 and doing great! Lost 68 lbs. Saw the Nutritionist today and she said that I wasn't eating enough Protein and shouldn't have crackers. Should be eating 4 small meals a day. I find it hard to fit all that in. Lately when I eat meat or chicken I PB, but anything else I can eat as much as I want. I thought that if I wasn't hungry I shouldn't eat. I drink a Protein Shake in the morning which is about 40 grams of protein and then eat lightly the rest of the day. Crackers and cheese, vegetables, fruit etc. What do the rest of you eat?

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
