How did surgery go? How are you feeling?

Hey, surgery went well. The first day was tough cause I was really high on meds, I couldn't stay up at all. The next day I started drinking my fluids and I find it easier to drink while I'm standing up or walking around. I don't have pain where the incisions are but I was getting a lot of acid reflux. Tums and walking has helped me a lot. They prescribed some Tylenol with codeine but I only take it at night so that I can sleep. I got home yesterday so today is my first day that I tried drinking my Protein. Not a big fan of it cause it's super thick but I did it in a little more than an hr. The best advice I can give is to sip while standing up and walk a lot. I hardly get gas pains.

I had my surgery on may 8th. I dont have my post op appointment until may 18th. I know this is not head hunger, but I am hungry. I can feel my stomach growling. I am sticking to my liquid first but 5 more days seems so long to stay hungry. I eat some Jello, Powerade, popsicle when I feel hungry but it doesn't always work. Any body experience this or can give any advice.

May 23!

On the pre-op now and down 13. It will break tomorrow (slight plateau)

I'm becoming more excited as the day draws near!

We're on the same boat. I too have my post-op appointment in May 18th. Last night I was so hungry, I sipped on Water and forced myself to sleep lol.

I can't stand broth but I am thinking of ordering wonton Soup just for the change. But I'm scared I'll eat the wontons.

5 day post-op. My best advice is to think of all the cool places you'll be able to shop at and the new things you'll be doing after the weight loss. As soon as you wake up, WALK!! At first it will feel a little weird but believe me it helps so much. Also, you'll be peeing a lot because of fluids. Take that time to walk too. Walking and sipping on your fluids will help with recovery and to be discharged faster. I was too high right after surgery that I kept knocking out, But the next day I was up and going. Youre going to feel soreness and that's normal. Best of luck and Congrats

I was going through the same exact thing five days postop just like you. It was driving me insane. I promise it will subside and you will not have the hunger feeling anymore. It is just extra acid and the hunger hormone is not completely out of your system yet. Once I reached one week, I feel so much better. In the meantime, if you're not already, take a PPI. (Prliosec, Nexium, etc.) to help control the acid.

My neighbor made my chicken broth with the veggies for flavor and then strained it. Try to do that instead of buying the ones from the store, I couldn't stand those.

I had my surgery the same day and I'm experiencing the same thing! My stomach grumbles like I'm hungry and I'm having cravings. I'm plannning out what I eat for the next week so I hope it will help. Not having to think about what I want to eat might help.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
