I am just a little over 12 weeks post op now, and I am able to eat everything. However, I have not eaten breads, Pasta, sugar, rice or processed foods in general, since December. I have also not had any caffeine since December. I have to say that I feel fantastic! I am doing my Beachbody workouts EVERY day, and I am loving the progress that I am making.

My husband and I went on a cruise 2 weeks ago, and it was an interesting experience post op. I stuck to Protein and avoided adult beverages, but I did allow myself to splurge on a small ice cream cone. It was strange watching people pile up their plates with food at the buffet, sometimes multiple plates, and I had absolutely no interest! I was actually kind of repulsed by it all. I am not judging others, as I certainly did my share of poor eating in the past, but I couldn't believe that amount of food people were eating. I am just intrigued by how quickly my relationship with food has changed, and how when I see others eating the way that I used to actually repulses me. I never thought I would look at food this way. Food has now become just something I need to live, not something I live to eat!

So 12 weeks post op, here is where I stand. I have lost 51 lbs from my highest weight, 38.7 of which has been post op. I have also lost a cumulative total of 28.2 inches across my chest, hips, waist thighs, arms. TWENTY EIGHT INCHES!!! I have gone down 2 pant sizes (18 to 14), and 2 bras sizes. My wedding ring is so big now that they can't even resize it. It has to be completely re-made because of how many sizes my finger has shrunk. I have donated 5 bags of clothes I will NEVER...EVER need again. I have been limiting my new clothes purchases, as I am now dropping sizes very quickly. Fortunately, I just buy jeans from Old Navy, and you can typically find them for around $15 on sale. My scars are healing well, and I have been using Mederma to help them along.

As far as skin goes, I don't have too much loose skin just yet, but I am starting to see that jello-y, almost post-pregnancy belly skin just below my belly button. I am hoping that firms up over time, but we will take it as it comes.

This was absolutely the best decision I have ever made or myself! I can't wait to see how I progress over the next several months!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
