I am planning on not telling people that I work with that I am having surgery. There are just too many people in my office who are judgemental and likes to give their opinions whether you want them or not. Plus, i don't think i wamt to start out with all eyes on me. The only ones who know is my boss's and supervisor. I was wondering if anyone else had the same or similar situation and how you explained your absence and everything to those who asked?

Tell the folks you are comfortable with knowing and that will support. I have worked with some folks for over 20 years so they are close friends. I told a few.

Your life style will change so eventually people will notice. At some point they will notice that and your weight loss. Feel comfortable about what you are doing and why and move forward.

Two women at my job know. Nobody has suspected a thing and it's a month out for me on Monday!

I'm the same. I didn't tell anyone at work. Only my family and close friends know. I did not want the scrutiny while going through this.

I told my coworkers that I was getting a cyst removed.

That's a good one. Where was your "cyst" located? I'm going to be out for surgery and I work in a small office in a southern town where everybody needs to know everybody's business. I have a three people who know and support me. But everyone is going to be asking why I was off for a week. You gotta love small southern towns!

I have told some close coworkers, but after the surgery all you are doing is eating smarter and in more sensible portions. I told the rest I had a gallbladder surgery and that explained the special diet before. After that I told them it was a great jumpstart to losing weight and so I was committing to keep losing by continuing better eating habits and Portion Control. Most are supportive and don't need to know the full story. Mostly I just smile and say thanks at the compliments of weight loss and when they ask what I am doing I say eating better and smarter. It's true, every word.

My stomach. I was diagnosed with fatty liver disease last year. Causes me to have pains in my midsection and I'm always nauseous. I told my coworkers those symptoms were because of a cyst in my midsection that needed to be surgically removed.

A lot of people say "it's none of their business" but like when people ask I don't feel comfortable being like "I'm not telling you" I would rather lie.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
