Yes. Two days away. I'm as nervous as a hostage... I'm on my liquids. So I choose to stay home instead of going to dinner at my in-laws..

I go in tomorrow at 8am! For those of you who already had your procedure this month, how are you doing?emoji2.png

Hi. I had my surgery on the 10th. Now 8 days out, I'm feeling better and better. Had a lot of nausea the day after and no one likes to feel that...however, I walked as much as I could and kept reminding myself "this will pass." And it does! I wasn't too sore just took it slow. Walk, sip Water, rest repeat. It's amazing how much better you feel each day. Best of luck to you and take it slow and steady.

I'm 6 days post op. I'd been feeling pretty good the last couple days but feel like I went totally backwards today. Bad stinging pain in my indented incision. Really hope to turn the corner soon.

It was postponed until 4/ 25.. I'm disappointed. I was ready, physically mentally and emotionally. Now I can't seem to get it together... How are you doing?

My surgery went well. (4/19) First day was rough with nausea from the anesthesia and horrible gas pains! It gets better each day though! 3 days post op and I feel so much better[emoji2]. All the gas pain from surgery is gone. The only pain I'm having now is from two of my incisions. But it's not too bad[emoji1474] The first two days my pain meds were a God send! I don't have any Gerd or anything...in 3 days I'm down 8 pounds so far[emoji3] My wonderful surgeon was Dr. Lufti at St. Joseph's hospital in Chicago [emoji3]

I had mine 4/19. I way, way under-estimated the pain and nausea though. Yesterday on day 3, I was having a mini pity party wondering why I did this to myself. Today day 4 has gotten better but I still feel really weak.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
