When does the pain subside? I just left the hospital. The more you move the better it gets right? Any advice is super helpful!! I've never been through surgery before this so I wasn't expecting it to be this bad.

I had my surgery on 3/17 and today I haven't had any pain. The first 3-4 days were very hard. It hurt so bad to move. I have had other surgeries and this was definitely the most painful! I've been really tired but did go for a short walk outside today. That felt so good! I hope you start feeling better!

I'm 5 days post op and honestly I feel great!! I have a little stomach soreness but that's pretty much it. The more you move around the better it gets. You will be amazed how much better you feel with each day that passes.

I don't know what some people went through and I'm not much of a sucker. BUT mine hurt, and it's still has a tender but healing hurt. I'm 35 days out, I see some people says they didn't experience much pain. Everyone is different OR SOMEBODY IS LIEING!!!![emoji23]

You said it!!! Hahahaha I'm like these people having to be lying!

It seems like everyone I know who has done it and has had a c-section said it was a piece of cake! I probably shouldn't have put much faith in their answers. [emoji23][emoji23]

Seems like you should be fine! You got this! [emoji1303]

So glad it's not just me!! I thought maybe I was crazy cause I've seen so many people say they didn't experience that much pain! I'm hoping after day four (tomorrow) I'll start to feel normal again. I'm a photographer and I shoot weddings and my surgeon swore I would be ready for my first wedding since surgery on April 15th, but now I'm starting to freak out!

I think the pain factor depends if you have laparoscopic surgery or a large incision. Also of course any additional surgery such as removing a hernia can increase healing time and pain and of course post op care all contribute to pain levels. The gas pains suck!! But they were gone after 3 days for me. I had laparoscopic surgery so no pain but I did rest and take it easy and gave my body time to heal and started slow walks building distance every day to help with healing. Didn't need pain killers. But it took about 4 weeks to start feeling human again. But that has been my experience anytime I go under general anesthetic.

I also had c-section and I'd rather have had that again than the rny surgery, i was in sooooo much pain for the first 2 days then it started to settle down, so hopefully you will start to feel better soon x

I did have laparoscopic. No complications at all. I'm still having some gas pains but mostly when I drink. I'm day four out and the pain has gotten a little better, just not as much as everyone else's does! I guess I'm the exception to every rule lol.

I think the larger weight you are when you have surgery the more it hurts when you move. Think about it, you have internal stitches at all those sites they opened up to do the surgery and they pull when you move. I had my gall-bladder removed and an umbilical hernia repaired with my RNY. It hurt so bad to get up and down that my husband had to help me. I bought a toilet riser so it wouldn't be so painful to get on and off the toilet. I slept in my recliner for at least 3 weeks because it was painful to turn and get in and out of bed (though I tried every night). It does get better as the days pass though and by week 4 I was sleeping comfortably in my own bed.

For me day 7 it went away but I took no pain medication day 3-7 and onwards so up to you

So would you say that stopping the pain meds helps? I mean honestly they don't even really touch it or ease the pain for me.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
