I was successful for my loosing period of about 1 year. I lost 100 lbs. I was so thrilled. I fell back I to eating incorrectly and am having problems getting the 30 lbs I have since gained back. Depression is setting in. I had total knee replacement 3 months ago and was very limited in moving. Now I'm ready to get back in the pool but still can't get on the stick. I haven't been able to find a support group in SC like I had access to in DE. I'm so upset at myself for going from a size 12 to a tight 16. If someone can help me work through this bad period and get me motivated to do right again I'll always be grateful.

I think the first thing is to start tracking what you eat again! Many people have relapses so don't beat yourself up to much, you have already made such great stride :) don't give up

1. Own your mistake.

2. Forgive yourself.

3. Get back on the wagon. If you have to, go back to your pre-op diet for 2 weeks and then work yourself through the entire process again.

You have to motivate yourself and learn to depend upon yourself. People are going to let your down and people can't be there for you 24/7. As long as you become your own rock then you will naturally attract and be attracted to the right people to share this journey with.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
