Hello!

I am 9 days post op and have the burps a lot. When will this subside? Also, I'm having pains in my abdominal muscles around an incision on my left side, is this normal? My stomach was removed from my right side.

You may have to get use to the burps LOL. I burp way more now than I ever did before. Thankfully it's tapered off. I actually have more of a hiccup issue after eating now than before. It can be normal, I had some muscle pain post-op since they do cut through your stomach, nerves are weird and can cause pain even in areas that were undisturbed. Just keep and eye on it and communicate with your surgeon to make sure they are aware.

My surgery was yesterday and I'm in agony only from the gas. Feels stuck in my chest and I can't burp . I wish I burped so I wouldn't be in this pain

If you haven't tried them yet, Gas-X strips or chewable tablets worked wonders for me.

Sally, it will be a little while before they subside. Gas x and walking are excellent for the gas. Also, make sure your taking small sips so you are not taking in too muck air.

I'm almost 1 month out (sleeved 2/9) and get the burps, but not as bad now and getting better every day. Good luck and congratulations!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
