I never thought I would feel this way!!! I just left my two weeks post surgery follow up and only down 10lbs. Talk about super disappointed!!!! I am Literally in tears. I used to be 400lbs and have been on diets all my life and lost at a rate alot faster then this. I am trying to stay motivated and continue this path but so hard when you see others lose close to 20lbs in the same time frame. Please tell me this will get better!!!

You should definitely not be disappointed. At all. You frickin' lost 10 pounds! What's to be disappointed about? I lost 12 pounds on my pre-op 2 week diet and I was thrilled! What did you expect to lose???? Don't compare yourself to others, that is a mistake.

Your body is different. Everyone is different. You will go through times after the surgery where you won't lose anything! One week you will lose, the next week.... or maybe weeks.... you won't lose!

Don't be so hard on yourself.

@mylighthouse, thanks for your reply. I actually expected to lose at least 15lbs. As I mentioned before I used to weigh 400lbs and lost down to 250lbs through diet and exercise. And I gained 45 lbs back of the 150 that I loss and I have yo-yoed my ENTIRE LIFE!!!! My weight loss was faster during that process, I guess I expected it to be quicker after surgery..I agree as comparing myself has really discouraged me!!!!

There are a lot of people that post these great loses on forums but they don't post how they are getting them.

There is a poster, that used to post here, I haven't seen her in while. Yeah she lost a ton of weight in very beginning but she did because she was not getting any Protein in. She was living off like Water and gatorade. She was posting all the time how she was starving. Then 6 months later she was posting about her great loses and her new life, she she left out the part where she didn't have any nutrition the first 6 weeks. People that were new were patting her on the back and congratulating her on her great loss, not knowing how she got there.

Follow your program and you will lose. You are not going to lose as fast as you did, when you were 400 lbs. I lost my first 100 lbs very fast. That last 100 is much slower but still fast compared to people who have not had surgery. This is a life long thing. Not a sprint. Keep your eyes on the long term goals, which is good health, not just dropping weight as fast as possible.

Thank you so much@outsidematchinside you are always a voice of reason. I have been worried too. Had my surgery on 2/1/17. I won't focus so much on the pounds dropped, just continue to follow my program and the weight will drop. It's hard getting Protein and fluids in but my doctor said 40-60 i am averaging about 45 a day and just doing the best I can.

No worries. I lost about the same when I was 2 weeks post op. Try not to get discouraged. We get so caught up with comparing ourselves to others. Remember it's a personal journey and the weight will come off in time. 10 pounds in two weeks is great!!!

This is not a magic bullet or procedure hun. It is going to take time for you to shed the weight. I was losing too fast at first and was looking and feeling a mess. My weight loss has slowed down and I now feel much better. (Health Wise) You will have stalls. I have had multiple stalls and some lasts an entire month. Just be patient, I will be four months out in about a week and have lost 83 pounds so far. Just make sure you eat the best that you can and get your daily Protein and Water in.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
