Hello everyone. New to forum

Hi all. I'm new to this forum. I was sleeved on Feb 16th and back home on the 17th. Honestly, I was expecting things to be worse than they really are. Since coming home I have not needed any pain meds and can easily walk my neighborhood with no issues. The ONLY issue I have is if I drink anything too fast I get a gas bubble that works it's way up. This is not pleasant. I'm getting very tired of the clear liquid diet. I feel like I could eat anything without issue but my surgeon insist on a minimum of 10 days clear liquid post surgery. On the 2 week pre-op liquid diet I lost 20 lbs. In the 3 days since surgery I have lost another 7 lbs. If anyone knows a way to make this clear liquid diet more bearable please let me know.

Regards,

Hi everyone. Just a quick update. I am now 1 week post op. Doing great with no hunger issues. My problem is today makes day 8 of the clear liquid diet. My energy level has bottomed out and if I stand too quickly I get light headed. I'm calling my surgeon tomorrow. I HAVE to get some nutrition in me.

Just a status update. I am now 4 1/2 weeks post op. Since I started the pre-op diet I am down 50lbs. At about 2 1/2 weeks post op I hit a snag. I came down with a uti that wiped me out. I'm sure I was a little dehydrated but when the uti hit I was instantly mega dehydrated causing everything to shut down and my BP started tilting really bad. I had to go to the ER for hydration and testing. Fortunately they were able to confirm the uti and started me on antibiotics. Once over the uti things have gotten much better. I'm now back in track.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
