I got cleared ! Anyone getting sleeved next week ?

Recommended Posts

Hii everyone :)

I know its late but I just wanted to share . I am getting sleeved on Tuesdayy. I was super nervous about getting cleared by my PCP because I had to get my blood work done twice due to my white blood cell count being high the first time . but today I got the OKAY :) I'm so nervous and excited and so thankful to God because this has been such a long journey already with losing weight and knowing the road ahead only holds accomplished weight goals is such a surreal moment. To anyone who has surgery coming up and everyone else waiting for approval GOOD LUCK. & God Bless you all.

So I had my surgery yesterday in Mexico with Dr Ortiz and it was an amazing experience. The nurses and doctors were fabulous and the facility is immaculate. One of the coolest parts is while you're in the hospital they are not in your room 20 times/night and if they do they tiptoe in, change your IV bag and leave! And it's soooo quiet and peaceful. I woke up with very minimal gas pain ready to take this challenge head on. So good luck and prayers for all of you who will soon have a smaller tummy and a beautiful healthy life ahead of you.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
