What does everyone think of Fairlife milk? I tried it, and it's ok. I've read on here where a lot of people are using it in their Protein Shakes (because it has more Protein than regular milk) But I have read (online) that ALOT of nutritionists don't think it's all that healthy afterall. I'm planning on asking my nut on my next appt, but I figured I'd ask for opinions.

I like drinking fairlife by itself, and since my surgery I've had issues with lactose, so I like that it has no lactose.

I was just concerned about the tjings I read saying that by taking out the fat and lactose etc, it increases the cancer causing elements. But, I guess everything says that today.

My NUT recommends Fairlife because of its higher Protein content and since its lactose free

I have been drinking it lately, I'm trying to get used to the things I'll be eating/drinking after my surgery in June

That's a very good idea so that you are well prepared once you arrive home post op. I have been drinking clear Chinese Soup, SF Jello, SF popsicles and SF Italian icee as well as crystal light and Crush flavor packs.

I have a question about hydration...I am not being sleeved until June, but I was wondering...HOW am I going to get 64ozs of fluids in AFTER surgery when I hardly drink anywhere near that now??? I drink maybe 24 ozs a day. I am working on it though.

You should begin to train your body now. If you are drinking 24oz now, than increase it to 32oz. And once you are comfortable with 32oz, increase it to 40oz and so forth. Water consumption is so important and you.should make it your priority. You have 4 months to prepare. I had 2 weeks...
Good luck!

Why will i need twice as much Water AFTER surgery than I need now?

Because before surgery your body gets Water from the food you eat as well as what you drink. After you aren't getting the water from food, only liquids so you have to up your quantities by a lot to cover the difference.

I'm 11 days post op, and Water, crystal light is just now starting to taste good, I finally got over 64 oz yesterday, and felt amazing last night and this am. Hoping to keep it up past 64 oz. I bought some Fairlife milk last week, because it was on sale, I really like it, the addtional Protein is a plus :)

Do things really taste different after surgery? Do you think I shouldn't worry too much about buying things NOW to get used to them for AFTER surgery?(Protein shakes, greek yogurt etc) Focus more on getting used to drinking more?

I really just had no taste at all. I usually like ice cold plain Water, but now I need a little crystal light for some flavor. I think I'm just healing. I would just concentrate on drinking more.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
