I'm freaking out!

Recommended Posts

So I just wanted to see what you guys thought of my progress so far and if anyone had a similar experience..

My start weight was 230 pounds.

I was sleeved on Aug 25 and as of today I weigh 195 pounds. It just seems like I am progressing very slowly .. I am following a low carb diet making sure I'm below 1200 calories and exercising 3 hours a week...

What do you guys think is my progress within normal? I tried talking to my nutritionist and her recommendations were to just stick with what I am doing and I should see results soon enough.

Thoughts???

230lbs as starting is on the lower side than many others. It might be higher depending on your height and your goal weight, but it's still considered 'lower'. I've noticed that a lot of people starting lower seem to progress a bit slower, and I think that's normal. My best suggestion would be now that you're about 6 months out, focus more on vegetables, Water, and increase the exercise if you can. I do 1.5-2 hours every other day. An example for a meal (I eat about 6oz a meal now as I'm a bit further out than you): 4oz vegetables, 2oz lean Protein. The veggies are going to be what contribute to weightloss, the Protein just keeps you feeling fuller longer and helps with muscle gain/definition.

You are fine..one day it will be gone and you will wonder where and when it went. Gives your skin and fat deposits to even out too so think of it as a small bonus. If you stick to it you can't not succeed

I've had a number of overseas trips as I recently retired, with wine once or twice a week which I appreciate slows weight loss too. However, I plan to persevere, and up my exercise. Have a bad back so has been mainly swimming and aqua Aerobics.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
