Is my band too tight? Please help.[emoji30]

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone! It's been a long time since I been on here. I went back to my lap band dr. Yesterday cause I gained weight recently due to new medications I'm on for anxiety and depression. I haven't had a fill in almost 2 years cause my weight was staying the same. He gave me a fill yesterday and I don't feel hungry at all which is great but...I keep burping when I drink Water and I was waking up coughing last night. I am able to swallow my meds but my stomach feels weird and my back feels weird too like they are both hurting a little. Can my band be too tight? Any help will be appreciated thanks.

I am in the same boat! I just had a full last week and I think my band might be too tight but at the same time of I go back and have Fluid taken out In afraid they will take too much out. Unlike you I am able to take my medication. You should call your Dr. If you haven't already. I just had my band filled after a long time not using. So I am starting up again. I think I now understand how to.use it as a tool. Let me know how how you are doing. Let me know if you want to keep in tough so.we can go through this start up mission tohether.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
