Hi i stuck to a high protien type diet like the Atkins once i came off the liquids and mushes which worked for me.I ate chicken with everthing and it helped me loose the weight quicker. As for the fills i was one of the unlucky ones who needed loads of fills i think it was 8 fills to get to decent restriction. Everyone is diffrent but most get restriction after about 3 fills.

Theirs no need to worry slinky you will be fine you are in great hands with Dr Chris,I think everyone has the same nerves before the op so your no different there.

You just have to think positive it will be worth getting the needles done if you loose the weight. In a year to come when you have lost all the weight you will think what was i worrying about.

So think positive and you will be fine.Good luck for the op on Tue and to the others that have theirs coming up soon.

Hi there I am a Dr Chris De Bryune virgin and am scheduled to have an op 3/9/10. Sooo freaking out with excitement and nerves!

So eveyone on here has met the Dr DBC? It's reassuring to read you've all been so happy with him as you read so much depressing stuff about suregery abroad...

Can anyone tell me where are the refills are carried out ? I live near York/ North East; where is closest for me? Also does it hurt when you have it done and where is the porthole so to speak?

So inspiring to read your big losses! Is it fair to say the biggest loss is after your 3rd to 4th refill? x:blink:

Hi,

I have been reading through all the pages for over a week now and have just plucked up th courage to post.

I am booked with Dr Chris for the 4th August, so just over a week to go now.

All the information on here has been really helpful, like what to take, what to eat before and the fact that nearly everyone thinks that they will be the only one it won't work for lol.

So I just wanted to really say a big thatnks to everyone who has taken the time to post advice.

Just one question really, I am going to Belgium on my own, as other half can't get the time off work, I have a pretty high pain threashold and am planning to drive to airport and leave the car there to drive back home after, does anyone think this will be a problem?

hello, i think the fills are in london and manchester the nearest to you, it says then all on the europesurgery website. i have heard dr chris is a brillant surgeon and i am going to him because my friend has had surgery with him already. i don't think you should worry about it being abroad beligum is the center for finance for europe its a very advanced country, we brits like to think britain is the best at everything and its just not true:wink2:

Hi Pearce

I had my last supper in the hotel the night before hand, 3 course meal, bottle of wine and several large G & T's - doctors orders surprisingly.

I had very thin Soup and crisp bakes (you will get some in hospital and will know what I mean), I lived on them for days and gradually moved onto thicker Soups, rice pudding/custard, ready brek. its strange but you seem to know what your body can cope with fairly quickly.

I am going for my 3rd fill this week and hope to take a step closer to my sweet spot - I have lost 2 stone so far and although slow I am delighted with it - better to come off gradually I think

Do you have a pound shop or similar near you?? If so they sell pre-packed Bovril, chocolate, coffee and I took a pack of each with me and found them to be very settling and tasty.

You will be absolutely fine and the care is fantastic.

Good luck and if you need to know anything then give me a shout

Kerry xx

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
