Can u ever just enjoy a slice of pizza or something like it after gastric sleeve?

I do. Maybe not a whole slice as I'm 4 months post. I have a few bites of the pizza and then I eat the topping.
Some.plans don't want you to but my plan is okay with it. Some make their own kind of pizza.

I buy super thin crust and enjoy a piece on occasion. I choose the smallest piece I can find.

I am now 14 months post-surgery. I LOVE pizza, but have to be very careful with it. If it's a thin-crust pizza, I can eat about 4 bites with crust and then have the rest of the toppings. If it's thick crust, I just eat the toppings. My favorite part, the thick, chewy crust around the edge, it always a problem. I save it for the end, and hopefully am too full to taste it. However, sometimes I am tempted and will eat a bite or two, just for the "chew" and nice, yeasty flavor. I am not tempted to eat it all- I save it for the end so I'm too full to eat it all!

I like making the cauliflower/almond crust pizza or also love using a Light FlatOut and using half of it. I dry it out on a towel in the microwave until it's very crisp. Then I top with my cheese and toppings and broil until the cheese melts. I keep the sauce on the side and put a little bit on each bite so it stays cracker crust crispy!

Hmmm, I may need to have that for lunch now that you mention it! :D

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
