Hunger returning at 3 months?

Recommended Posts

Is this even possible? For the past couple of days I have been feeling a knawing gurgling feeling that I would have classified as hunger before surgery.

Could it be hunger returning? I know that acid is sometimes confused with hunger but I haven't had a prob with acid since week 3.

I have been sick for the past week, not sure if that has anything to do with it

I am just over six months out and some days I feel like I can eat more than others. However, I don't give into what I think may be hunger and continue to lose. With stalls every now and then. Just stick to your plan, drink Water when you think you are hungry, and the weightloss will continue.

Are you taking a PPI and antacids?

I am asking because at first I kept my diet very simple. As I added more things I started having acid issues. I had mild acid issues from 3 to 9 months, then it stopped.

I haven't been taking PPI or antacids because I haven't had any symptoms.

Start taking them and see if that helps. When I started adding more foods I had acid issues, I took a PPI for a while and it ended. I haven't take a PPI in months now, now acid issues.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
