Jesus loves you!!!

By the time I was 14, I was my full adult height of 6' 1" According to the government and several other sources, that was actually 6' 2", but I seem to have compressed somewhat over the years. In the following years, I did lots and lots of hard labor, and really packed on the muscle. I was always inclined towards chubbiness, but the work kept fat pretty much at bay. As the years passed, and the labor eased up, I neglected to reduce my caloric intake, and it landed me where I am today.

Here is a picture from the dim recesses of time, when I was a mere slip of a lad at 15. This was so long ago, the entire world was still in black and white. :P Seriously, this is me as I just finished kicking some butt on the wrestling mat at 180 lbs in 10th grade.

These are my two. Daryl and Carol. My mutant fattie, Carol (the grey one) eats just about anything.

I like to play this game called, "What will Carol eat?"

@@Dub, my parents bred Miniature Schnauzers when I was a kid. They are the smallest watchdogs I've ever seen. We had open horse stalls behind our house and they were always hunting and killing snakes!

We had two cats years ago, Claude and Stinker. Stinker loved noodles. We would feed him a spaghetti noodle just to watch him suck it in. We would laugh so hard we'd cry. Claude's nickname was CarboCat. He loved doughnuts, and if we left a box of them out on the table, we would come back to discover that he had torn into it and eaten the top off every single stinking doughnut in the package. Maybe he was trying to help us out.

I also re-learned that lesson the other day. I had some pierogies and ate maybe a bite or two too many. So at the is point, I open the fridge to put away the sour cream and I see my bite sized pumpkin pies. I think to myself why not. Well "why not" turned out to a giant leap over that fine line. I spent the next 30-40 minutes feeling as if my pouch was going to burst. I promised myself that one more thing would not happen anymore. I will stick to my 5 oz of food (2oz Protein and 3 oz of fiber/veggies) this is my go to about of food. We all have to figure out where our fine line is and how to not cross it, I know I still think like a "fat kid" sometimes (I must eat it all, that does look like enough food, I want to have this with my food too) but I am still learn how to turn that "fat kid" into a healthy one.

Chompers eats apples and raw carrots and cat poop and chicken food. I finnally found something won't eat! Sardines, he did eat the two cheese "crackers". Not a big fan of them myself, but they are loaded with lysine and I live in terror that the Bell's palsy will return if I deviate from the diet and supplement regiment.

I would post a picture of what I looked like (hideous) but can't figure out how to post older photos.

The 14 year old says "when the world was gray"

He's 5'9" 175 pounds. Squats 345, benches 195, and cleans 225. Clearly my backbone! Hubbys pack mule for hauling out deer, and all the neighbors use him to do all the strong man work. I worry because my "little" brother is 6'5"... but skinny/scrawny. If this one gets that tall as big as he is...gonna need a second mortgage to feed him! His high Protein low carb lifestyle involves a side of beef a day now! Lol!

All the precious critters!!! ❤️❤️❤️

Love them!!!

Pierogies, eh? I haven't even thought about them since my surgery. I loved them fried up in butter with onions. I guess if I made some of my own and mixed in some Protein powder, I could just about justify them. ;-)

Do you do a lot cooking with your Protein powder? I am not sure I can, I have to use a vegan powder and it does not come in a unflavored version.

@@Zoes.Realm The closest I have come to cooking with Protein powder is mixing it up in my coffee. It was just a thought. I loved pierogies, but between the potatoes and the dough, I am not sure I could handle the guilt right now. Maybe when I get closer to my goal weight I will reconsider.

I do know that Protein powder tends to clump when it gets too hot - like when you put it in coffee, for instance.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
