How many times do I have to go

Recommended Posts

I have to do 7 appts pre-op with the surgeon. So far I've seen Cardio 3 times, Pulmonology twice, had 2 sleep studies (with and without cpap), and will see my endocrinologist once, will have my endoscopy along with nut and psych on 01/27. I'll also see my primary once more before we submit to insurance in February.

How many times do you see each dr??

I went to each Dr once. Cardo, psyc, pcp, surgeon. Went to my nut classes for 6 months and now have a surgery Date for 1/31. Month of January will be busy with Dr appts for pre-op stuff but only with the surgeon and his staff.

For me, all my drs talk. Their all in the same network. So if 1 Dr does blood work, they all get it. So this helped the surgeon a lot.

Once. I went to Mexico! So much easier than dealing with all of the doctor issues and insurance issues. The real bonus? I got to choose my surgeon instead of my "network" choosing.

It really depends on your insurance and also the clinic that you are having surgery with. I had monthly primary care doctor visits and nutritionist visits for three months. I also saw the surgeon twice during that time. I had an additional surgeon visit and nutritionist visit the week before surgery. In the past 5 weeks since surgery I have seen the surgeon twice and the nutritionist twice. I had to sign a contract with them that I will see them each every three months for the next year and annually after that. Lots of visits! :)

If you go to a certified weight level as center you will be given the same quality of care as any other patient.

There are plenty of surgery mills that will happily do major surgery and send you on your way, hopefully you would get a sheet of diet instructions on your way out the door.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
