Op 19 Dec post op day 11

I had diverticulitis before surgery having 12 inches of my colon removed about ten years ago. Dr. went in and said the scar tissue was horrible and the surgery was 3 1/2 hours long. After 4 days of in the hospital got released and everyday is a challenge. I have absolutely no appetite and broth and popsicles come right back up. I did get some Gas X which helped tremendously with immediate impact. Haven't had a good night sleep since I've been home and I feel exhausted all the time. In saying all that thanks to many of you for sharing it has really got my spirits up. Good luck to all and wishing you each a Happy New Year.

I hope things start getting better for you!! It is very hard at first. I also had a lot of scar tissue from previous surgeries. They told me that it took them 45 minutes to cut thru all of it. Did they give you pain meds? I can share something with you that has helped me even better than Gas X. It is PAPAYA ENZYMES they are 100% natural and I get them at Walmart for less than $5.00. I have been using them for the last 3 and 1/2 years but please check with your Dr first. I always chew them up and lie on my left side. I hope you get some rest and relief. So sorry
