I can't stand the clay texture of protein bars. Any good ones?

http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/alton-brown/protein-bars-recipe.html Make your own! All the ones I've had are terrible, not worth it and loaded with preservatives and sugar. If you like the bar foods, I get 'That's It' fruit bars which are well...loaded with fruit sugar, but at least they are good for a snack.

I really like Quest bars. Mrs. LittleBill likes them too. I had some others a long time ago from another company. They were like eating particle board with chocolate mixed in, but the Quest bars have been really good. Of course, this is all subjective. You may already hate them. ;-) But if not, you might consider giving them a try.

My favorite is the Atkins Peanut Butter chocolate pretzel bar. Also like the Quest chocolate chip cookie dough one. If you search on this site for Protein bars, you will find lots of info.

Yes, but the site makes a ton of money off their push for product, take it with a grain of salt

I was suggesting to search the site for other topics on Protein Bars. There are many of them.

I like Oh Yeah One bars.

I think Protein bars are fake trash food though. I have them in my purse strictly for emergencies. They are overly processed and basically fake food.< /p>

Eat them with caution.

Also early on they provided restriction. Now they are just basically sliders. No restriction, no satiety.

Quest bars are delicious. I haven't tried a flavor that I didn't like. If you stick them in the microwave for like 15 seconds to warm them up, especially the brownie or apple pie, it really tastes like a dessert.

I also don't like most Protein bars (and also consider them pretty crappy food - for emergency use only). That being said I have found that NuGo Slim bars aren't bad. They have 3g of sugar (that's from the fact they are coated in actual dark chocolate) and no artificial sweeteners.

They also do not have that "clay" texture, and they cause me no intentional distress as some of the others do.

Not great. Not a health food. But not the worst option in a pinch.

You can find them at Whole Foods, Plum Market (if you have those) or order them online. They aren't ridiculously expensive either. About $20 for a box of 12.

You don't need any Protein bars. Carry Jerky or chopped chicken breast (it does not need to be refrigerated for a day unless you are out in incredible heat) instead.

Protein bars are just fake candy bars dressed up as health food IMO.

My mother has the opposite problem with her weight that I have -- she struggles to not be underweight. Her doctor ordered her to eat a Protein Bar every day to stop weight loss and it works! If she eats two a day, she gains weight.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
