being cold all the time is common with all weight loss surgeries - not just the DS. Not sure why - loss of insulation (i.e., fat) is probably part of it, but it's more than that because many people are cold all the time even before they drop much weight.

as for your stall - 4-5 months sounds like you might be in maintenance rather than a stall. Are you happy where you are, or would you like to lose more? if the latter, you may need to drop your calories a bit. Are you weighing and/or measuring and logging everything you eat? I have to or I get "portion creep" over time.

Try adding more spice in your foods also the thing that helps me the most is ginger tea. I take raw ginger slice thin and boil for about 15 minutes with Water on stove. Makes an awesome tea that makes me feel so much warmer. Might help boost your metabolism some as well. Have you tried making some changs in your diet to boost the weight loss sometimes it does not take much to get moving again.

I was wondering would my weight loss start again if I went back to an all liquid diet like when I first had the surgery

Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

some people do that for a few days to get it jump started again. Then they go back to eating according to whatever their plan is (I know you guys can eat more than the rest of us, and your plan is a little different. I'm pretty much at goal, but I still eat protein-forward, vegetables, no simple carbs, limited complex carbs (fruit and whole grains). I stick to around 1200 calories a day (I measure and log everything - and probably will have to for the rest of my life because I know myself too well!!!). Although your plan and calorie level might be different since you're a DS'er. I think you guys are able to eat more because you have a lot more malabsorption than we RNY'ers do)

did you have the tradition DS or the SIPs single loop DS? I think their diet is a little different. There are some groups on Facebook that support DSers I would suggest asking the ones/vets that have experience with stalls. You can also join

a group and then type in stall in the search bar for that group I hope this helps you. I have not had surgery yet hopefully it will be in Jan or early Feb.

If you had the full DS, you won't need to count calories. Just Protein grams and simple carbs/sugars.

Are you eating 100+ grams/protein/day? Are your carbs under 50 grams/day (since you still want to lose)? These are the only things you'd have to weigh and/or measure (to ensure you're eating enough).

Have you had your bloods done within the last 6 months?

I've sent you a PM with more information.

How many grams or Protein are you eating a day?

I eat a ton. Every 2-3 hours. Protein.< /p>

At a year and half out, I can see you still might need a shake to supplement your Protein. But boy, I'd be eating my Protein if I could. It's so satisfying to have a bowl of nuts, big chunk of cheese, salami & swiss, hamburgers, steak, etc.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
