Feeling pissed off again by Kaiser

Recommended Posts

Okay so I had another sleep medicine appointment today, and they saying I still don't have enough data (35 days of data out of 42days since last appointment) again on this machine so they went ahead and have me another machine (two) plus another appointment in January. I have had this sleep machine since April and this is the only thing that is holding me up from getting a date for surgery.

I have explain to them time after time that I have 3 small kids (twins) at home and I don't always remember to use my machine when I'm trying to sleep when they sleep.

Then on top of that they have kept canceling my following up appointments with Sleep and then give me other dates that are months later. I only been seen 3 times since April.

Its to the point that I might just say they can have it, I'm done. Come February it will be an year since I started Kaiser 6 month program. When I'm

Seeing other insurance company's and people that don't even require or have to do the stuff kaiser is making us do and pay for. I'm so over this now!!!! — feeling pissed off.

I've heard stories that Kaiser is a PITA as far as allowing surgery as they require you to jump through impossible hoops. Keep your chin up. It's just a temporary, albeit inconvenient, bump in the road and you'll be on the other side of surgery soon!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
