Pre-op Diet Starting on Christmas Eve

Recommended Posts

I am having my revision surgery on Jan 3rd, making my pre Op Diet starting on Christmas Eve day. Any suggestions on what I will be able to eat over the holidays. 3 big meals for me to get through. Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Years Eve. All suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.

I haven't received the pre Op Diet yet, will get that on Dec 21, I just wanted to get my head wrapped around it all. Revision is removal of Lapband and the sleeve done at one time. Any suggestions?

I'm so sorry, I don't know enough about the lap band, I don't want to give you any wrong information. I even went online and looked it up. So many mixed conclusions. There was articles on the subject, on BariatricPal. Diet After Band Removal/Life After Lap-Band Removal. In 2007. I wish I could have helped.

PS.

My 1st response doesn't sound like the way I meant it. I was trying at humor. Not funny at all. I really wish you the best of luck! Keep reposting, someone will have this in common with you and reach out.

I'm half a sleep, lol! Good luck and best wishes! I'll be keeping my eyes open for you in the future.

I am 3 weeks post off from the same revision. My pre op and now 4 week post. Op is clear liquid with Protein drinks. I'm so sorry to say you will have an exciting holiday meal if sugar free Jello, turkey broth and oh yeah choc Protein shake. But think if all the holiday meals you did eat got you where you are. My suggestion politely tell people you will miss the meals and meet for coffee and gifts afterwards. Let others cook

Im allowed 2 shakes and a low carb dinner my first week of pre-op. If you are allowed to have regular food at all just stay away from breads/sweets/starches.....carbs. Im getting revision-sleeved Dec 16th, so my Xmas will REALLY SUCK...lol. but you may have some flexibility depending on the doctors orders.

I'm getting a revision on January 10th, starting the pre-op diet on the 27th December. I've got a few parties and NYE celebrations to circumnavigate... my pre-op diet allows 2 shakes, Optifast or similar, plus 1 meal of allowed veg (no corn, potatoes, pumpkin etc) and a palm-sized piece of lean meat. I'm planning on eating that allowed meal at lunch when socialising, and having the shake for dinner. Good luck!

I'm starting my pre op 12/17 for 12/26 sleeve. It's 99% mental as I've been telling myself to get my head in this game. I've had plenty of Christmas dinners, obviously too much Christmas candy and missing one holiday dinner party won't kill me. Fingers crossed that Staying positive is going to be my secret weapon

Skip Christmas this year, you'll have one next year. I started 14 day my pre-op diet on Tuesday, my birthday is tomorrow, my surgery on the 20th and Christmas five days later. I'm just going to skip the bday and holiday this year. Maybe I'll do a half birthday in June.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
