There is a December 2016 Sleevers group in the forum already up and running:

http://www.bariatricpal.com/forum/1221-december-2016-sleevers/

Would be great to see all the new faces there. :)

Also have a team calendar where you can post your date and find an "Accountabila-buddy"

It's free!
Anyone here can post on it and view it so you can find an "accountabilaBuddy" or surgery twin.
You don't need to create an account to post.

Just use the URL to go to the calendar: https://teamup.com/ks5074f51794efefeb

  • *****Make sure you are looking at December 2016 and not November
  • Click on your date
  • Under Title: Put your MyBariatricPal user name
  • Under Who: Put your actual name or name you pref your friends to call you
  • Under Where: Put your location

Looking forward to connecting,

CC

I am trying to do this without cheating-it's a challenge, I'll be honest! I just keep telling myself it's only "x" more days...I know it's going to make the surgery easier for me & Dr. too so that helps...but the worst is being around the family when they eat ....I know I can do this, just need to convince my brain and stomach!!

Mine is Dec 14. I haven't been super excited or worried. Anyone else like that?

Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Yes! I am going to get sleeved on the 16th. It doesn't seem really REAL yet. Im not overly anything about it. I hope it changes. I want to be excited and happy!

My sleeve is scheduled for the 21st, like several others. I was wondering how other 21sters are holding up with the preop diet. Today was my first day.

I know different surgeons use different diets, but the one I am following calls for three Protein shakes a day (30g protein/1g sugar) and unlimited broth and Crystal Light type drinks, and Decaf teas. I do have a cup of coffee in the morning with a splash of vanilla Protein shake and Splenda.

I followed it to a T today, but it was hard when I made dinner for my husband. I went in the other room and drank some ginger miso broth from Trader Joe's while he ate.

I had my sleeve yesterday, along with hiatal hernia repair. Going home this afternoon. I have..NO...pain from surgery. What I do have is a back full of arthritis that was killing me immeriatly after surgery (probably from lying flat which I can't normally do) so I have spent my hosputal time in the reclinder instead. Much better. Just taking Tylenol because my doctor insists. No nausea yet. No anything, really.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
