Hello all. Happy holidays. Just doing a follow up. I was sleeved 5/29/15. Pre surgery weight 345 SW 320 CW 200. My Dr told me my goal would be 225 but I passed that in the first 6 months. It was easy losing. The hard part is maintaining but I'm trying my best. It's just important to surround yourself with positive people and unfortunately at times we have to let go of some relationships because of their lack of respect. Hope everyone is doing well. You're welcome to ask any question. I'm in NYC if there are any locals for chatting. attachicon.gif ImageUploadedByBariatricPal1480517560.368382.jpgattachicon.gif ImageUploadedByBariatricPal1480517578.533849.jpgattachicon.gif ImageUploadedByBariatricPal1480517592.916627.jpgattachicon.gif ImageUploadedByBariatricPal1480517607.084495.jpg

Can you go into detail about your exercise regimen?

Hi. I started the gym 3 months after surgery due to the gym being built in my area. Prior to that I did a lot of walking. Once I started the gym I did a lot of walking and treadmill and stationary bike. After that I did weights but kept the weight low just to tone only. I did increase the weights but unfortunately I started bulking up and increased my weight base on muscle mass. I'm going back to cardio and tone to lose the 10 lbs I gained in muscle. I also used a waist slimmer and neoprene suit to increase the sweat. I also used a product called "it works" for cellulite which does work on my stomach. I was surprised it did.

If you need more info let me know.

You look great! I have a lot of bodybuilding friends and they would be seriously jealous of your nice calves :P

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
