Help. I am very hungry!!! Tell me what to do

Recommended Posts

I got my band on August 27th. I have been diong so good; never any hunger pains, until today. My God, I could chew my leg off if I could bend down to it. I have not cheated, not even one time. I have lost right at 23 pounds. I asked my dr. when I would need a fill. He said that when I get hungry!!!! WELL, I AM HUNGRY NOW.

I am still on liquids. I will go to mushies on Monday, the 17th. I will go on solids one week later. Should I just ride this out. Pray for hubbie. I feel a real bitch attack on the horizon.:hungry::hungry::help::faint:

I know it is awful.....but it gets so much better, honest! Make sure that you are getting enough Protein and that will help the hunger. What worked for me was Campells Soup (in the box) Tomato and basil and I would add ricotta cheese, lots of Protein and it tasted like lasagna if you closed your eyes!! Add an extra Protein shake if you can and I promise it will get better, those mushies will be like heaven!

Good luck!

Thanks so replying so quickly. I am eating some Campbell's Soup now; pepper jack. Pretty good. I will hang in there until I go on mushies.

Oh and as far as hubby....just remind him that it will all be worth it....he will have his wonderful wife around much much longer!!! If that does not work, show him the thread of what improves after weight loss....I am sure that there is something in there that will interest him :D

Soup was the answer for me too. Just remember that this is a time for healing , not for losing. If you need to eat more often, do it. Eat whatever is allowed on your list. I really enjoyed egg flower soup. I had to spit out the peas, but for some reason, it felt more like dinner.< /p>

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
