@@QueenBx, I'm hanging in there. I've been off course for about two weeks. I need to get back on track starting tomorrow. My last nut appointment is on Jan 5th. I have decided to change surgeons and surgerys. I'm going to Emory @ John's Creek with doctor Hart and getting gastric bypass.

My surgery date is January 19, 2017

Hoping I won't have a lot of pain, can anyone tell me what I will feel like right after surgery?

The pain for me is more like general discomfort all over abdomen and very tight with lots of noises. I am still taking pain pills for about 1-2 more days only (I had surgery on Monday 12/19 so only day 5 for me. It is a daily chore to get all the liquids and Protein down as you can only take 1-2 ounces at a time so I wake at 7:30am and work all day to get in everything every 15 mins using an alarm clock with reminders for when is Protein shake, Water, broth, Vitamins, etc as everything has to be paced out. Getting better day by day but good thing I will have 4 weeks off as this is like a job every day to follow the schedule and also to get two long walks in. I know it will get better each week as things normalize.

I had my surgery at 4pm on 12/19 and as soon as woke up tried to walk the floor every 3 hours and I was released on 12/20 at 2pm so not even 24 hours. I have no hunger so force myself to follow that schedule with the 4 ounces every 30 minutes.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
