Pickles and ice water ?

Recommended Posts

Do you think you crave the pickles because of salt?

Pre-surgery, I couldn't get enough radishes. I would get the shakes if there weren't any in the frige. Post-surgery, I don't think I've had a single radish and pickles seem too sour for me right now. But I'm with you on the ice Water. I keep a few half bottles in the freezer so I can top off and have ice Water all the time.

I used to love pickled gherkins.

I have tried them over the months and still they don't sit well with me so I am giving them up.

Sometimes the craving of ice can mean you are anemic. Have you had your levels check?

I almost had a break down because my hubby said he would pick up my fat-free Half/half for my coffee. He knows I only use Fat-Free. And he is always trying to get me to step outside of my box. So he brought full flavored Half/Half, I was so upset!! So the next day, he went to get my Fat-Free. LOL He told me that I need to relax some!! LOL Funny how we get about stuff!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
