So I just got my sleep results in and its confirmed that I do have sleep apnea...and I have a little under 4 months before surgery so just wondering finding out I have sleep apnea will slow down the process or affect me getting insurance approval.??

No, I have had sleep apnea for over 20 years now, I use a cpap machine. I have also had a few surgeries since. My bypass will prob. Be between April and june. The only thing they told me was I just need a approval from my sleep doc and cardiologist before surgery saying it was ok. They said it's just a formality. Sleep apnea is one of the co-mobidites insurance companies look for other than diabetes, high blood pressure etc.

Thank you at @@mountainman2292 for your response I'll be getting my cpap machine, is it hard to adjust sleeping with a cpap? Now I'm anxious about that .

Not at all, if you did fine wearing it during your sleep study you will do fine at home. .plus, you will not have all the wires attached to your body lol. I can't even take a nap now without my cpap I am so use to it. I can't wait to no longer needing to have one. Don't be anxious ,you will do fine. If you ever need to ask me any questions please feel free to ask.

I also found out I have sleep apnea during this process. I just got my cpap 8 days ago.

it took me a while to get into the pulmonologist so that was the only delay..and that I have to wear it for 7 to 10 days so they can read the chip inside.

other than that..no delays.

I have to wear it at least 4 hours during the night..I've been getting 6 to 8 hours with it.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
