Yes the Pre op diet is not easy.but you want your surgeon to do a great job on the staple line and that liver needs to shrink in order for him to do so. So, it's a necessary evil. It will be over in a moment. And we will welcome you to the losers bench. Good luck.

I'm on the 19th. Started liquid diet today and I'm not going to lie, this sucks. All I keep telling myself is how worth it this process will be.

This liquid diet is no joke! I am trying to not pay attention to the days left to go on it since it seems like they are going so slow... Although I feel weird because I am eating quiet a lot... I am having a hard boiled egg as a snack, 1/2 cup low fat cottage cheese (may be a cup...) and also non-fat greet yogurt. It was very comforting to have hot chicken broth. (all in between my Protein shakes)

The headache is not going away... anyone else feeling this? I alse get tons of thoughts about this...what am I doing? I miss food! I am starting to mourn my relationship with food and ready to start a new one...

Gosh I want a cold glass of milk so badly. Week 3 I can have skim milk. I'm gonna smoothie myself to death, lol with my Protein packs

I'm glad to see it gets better!! Today has been just very uncomfortable. I've never had acid reflux or anything but all day I have felt like something is stuck! I want a cup of milk so bad and my head is killing me.

So far its just the gas pain thats bothersum. Just got home a few hours ago. I stayed at yhe hospital 2 nights because my surgery was push after some emergency surgerys i wasnt out of surget untill 9pm. Im healing ok. My first drink of Water gave me a narly burning sensation in my cheat but the gave me plenty of pepsid and that did the trick. Im pretty content right now watchin tv and sipping Water. No real appetite but boy do i miss warm food lol. My kids are 8 and 4 year old twins so i didnt discuss it with them. I didnt want to scare them. They are with thier grandparents for the weekend so im sure when thy come back i wont in so much pain

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
